Alpha Gamma Chapter – Omicron Nu Xi Military Sorority excitedly partnered with New Beginnings Outreach Center in Newport News, VA to assist with organizing donated women, men, and children clothing! We worked tirelessly to organize, sort and bag/box up two rooms of items. With the support of New Beginnings Outreach Center, we are creating a powerful ripple effect of kindness and support throughout Hampton Roads. This initiative was about more than just sorting clothes, and essentials—it was about ensuring that these items reach those who need them most in a meaningful way. We distributed these items to our local Women’s/Men’s Shelters and Jail re-entry program in this area! Our goal was to bring comfort and dignity to individuals facing hardship.
The sisters of Alpha Gamma Chapter-Omicron Nu Xi LLC came together to volunteer at the Peninsula Rescue Mission serving breakfast to those in need. It was an honor to provide meals, smiles, and a sense of community to those experiencing homelessness. Service is at the heart of what we do, and we are grateful for the opportunity to make a difference. A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered and supported this initiative—your kindness and dedication truly matter!
The Sisters of the Alpha Gamma Chapter – Omicron Nu Xi Military Sorority came together in true sisterly spirit to serve alongside Mercy Drops Dream Center (MDDC), bringing hope and nourishment to the families of Dale Homes community. From carefully loading and unloading pallets of fresh produce and essential food items to joyfully distributing them with warm smiles, we worked side by side—each task an opportunity to lift one another up and deepen the bonds that unite us. As we passed out the items, we are reminded that when sisters unite in service, we strengthen not only our community but each other. This partnership has shown us the power of collaboration, the joy of giving, and the unbreakable ties of sisterhood. We were filled with gratitude for this shared experience and cannot wait to roll up our sleeves with MDDC again soon!
Sorors from AGC-ONΞ had the honor of flag removal at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, VA honoring our fallen soldiers. As we reflect on Veterans Day, remember their experiences, marked by resilience and strength, have not only defended our nation but have also inspired generations. We were continually reminded of the strength and service of our Veteran Women! Throughout history, women have played vital roles in the military, often overcoming significant challenges, and breaking through barriers.
Sorors from AGC-ONΞ had the honor of flag removal at the Amelia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia Court House, VA, honoring our fallen Soldiers. The Holiday Helper Association’s mission is to make sure that “No Military Child Goes Without”, and because AGC-ONΞ strives to make a difference in as many people’s lives as possible, our Sorors volunteered as Holiday Helpers by assisting with family meals, stocking stuffers, hats and mittens, homemade infant blankets, books, puzzles, a live tree if needed and so much more. Holiday Helper works directly with wounded warriors and their families each year - accommodating them by either opening up the Fort Gregg-Adams toy store for them to shop or delivering the toys/items to them directly. We were so proud to be a part of a mission filled with purpose and caring for a cause that truly matters; improving the lives of children.
AGC-ONΞ believes in making a difference; one person at a time. Recently, our first Chapter Line, “The Phenomenal 4 of Hearts”, demonstrated this commitment by giving a heartfelt donation to an individual in need. This act of kindness reflects our dedication to uplifting and empowering those facing challenges. As sisters of Omicron Nu Xi, we are proud to stand together in support of our community, ensuring that our values of compassion and service shine through in everything we do. Small acts of generosity can create a ripple effect, and we are honored to be part of that change.
During the 2025 Memorial Day weekend, AGC - ΟΝΞ was deeply honored to take part in a sacred tradition—preparing, placing, and removing the American flags at three (3) VA cemeteries across Virginia.
At Amelia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia Courthouse, VA, Sorors participated in the flag-laying ceremony. They reunited with fellow veterans, reminding us that this act of honor is also a moment of community.
At A.G. Horton Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Suffolk, VA, Sorors respectfully assisted with the flag retrieval. For one of the Sorors, the moment became personal as she located the resting place of a family member—a heartfelt encounter that added depth to the meaning of the day.
At the Hampton Veterans Cemetery, Hampton, VA, Sorors carried out the duty of collecting the flags. The experience was humbling; moving through the rows of heroes, honoring each life and sacrifice.
AGC - ΟΝΞ is proud. We remember, we honor, and we will never forget.
